White Rose Agility

White Rose Agility is a competition agility club based in Halifax, West Yorkshire in England. There are normally about 20 members competing with dogs of all standards from Grade 1 to Grade 7 and at all heights: Small, Medium and Large.

White Rose Agility trains on Wednesday evenings only, and takes only handlers and dogs that are already competing in Kennel Club or equivalent standard shows. Members attend shows most weekends of the year - especially in the summer - and judge or ring party at many of them. As a club we believe firmly in having fun, and in putting something back into the sport that we all enjoy so much.

Currently there are no vacancies. Training is to KC regulations, eg up-contacts are trained as well as down-contacts.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Training at the normal times this Wednesday, and subs are due. (10 weeks as we owe for 3 weeks cancelled due to bad weather before Christmas) Not sure what the annual fee is yet as we are waiting to hear if the insurance premium has gone up.

TRAINING CANCELLED
Jan, Wendy and I have been down to the venue tonight and in our opinion we cannot train tomorrow because of the effects of the bitter temperatures: some of the lights are not working because the switches have frozen (!); it is not possible to peg weaves or tunnels because the ground is frozen and rock hard; the car park and yard are still covered in frozen snow; and, quite frankly, it was so cold that even the time we spent there, moving about, was uncomfortably bitterly cold - to stand instructing for hours, or waiting for 'turns', is just not feasible. So, really sorry, but we are cancelling tomorrow's training. As the bitter cold is set to continue, we are discussing ways that would allow us to continue in the New Year without anyone - or their dog - getting frostbite......Have a lovely Christmas and a Happy new Year!!

Christmas games...
I can't believe that I forgot to take the camera to record for posterity the Christmas games: the sausage dash; the Senility Course; the contact chaos; the flick-flack challenge! And thank you to everyone for eating almost all the food - it means there is less to tempt me to over-indulge (clear up) afterwards. I enjoyed tonight - hope you all did too!

CHRISTMAS PARTY
Hi Everyone,
We are having one or two party games amidst the training on Wednesday, as well as a bite to eat - nothing fancy, but we could do with knowing who is coming so that we know how many mince pies, for instance, to buy! So, RSVP!
And wear something festive!!

More successes:
I'm not sure of all the results from Hare 'n Hounds on 27 November, but I do know that Mark and Shadey won the Grade 1 Agility!! Wooohooo!!!
At NAWS on Sunday 28 November there were some great results as well, despite bitterly cold temperatures:
Sara and Tilly won the Grade B (Combined 1&2) Jumping, and Wendy and Geordie overcame the weave entry jinx and came second in the Grade C (Combined 3&4) Jumping.
Helen and Lucy came 4th in the Grade B Jumping, while Helen and Jock got a Clear Round in Grade B Agility, and Lucy and Sasha got Clear Rounds in both the Jumping and the Agility!
Well done to everyone!!
