White Rose Agility

White Rose Agility is a competition agility club based in Halifax, West Yorkshire in England. There are normally about 20 members competing with dogs of all standards from Grade 1 to Grade 7 and at all heights: Small, Medium and Large.

White Rose Agility trains on Wednesday evenings only, and takes only handlers and dogs that are already competing in Kennel Club or equivalent standard shows. Members attend shows most weekends of the year - especially in the summer - and judge or ring party at many of them. As a club we believe firmly in having fun, and in putting something back into the sport that we all enjoy so much.

Currently there are no vacancies. Training is to KC regulations, eg up-contacts are trained as well as down-contacts.

TRAINING CANCELLED TOMORROW
They have been digging up the entry to the stables - a 6ft deep hole across the entrance. With the weather the way it is, it might not be finished and filled by tomorrow evening, so for safety's sake we are cancelling tomorrow night's training. Sorry!

WIGAN
All the news I have had from Wigan is that it has had to be cancelled today because of the mud. Apparently it teemed down again in the night, and an already muddy ground became a quagmire, so the show had to be cancelled.
However, in the less than perfect conditions of Saturday, Mel managed to keep her footing and win the Grade 3 Jumping!! Well done Mel!!

Well, White Rose members cleaned up at Hare 'n Hounds last weekend. I'm still waiting for specifics, but I know Rachel's Fred did some lovely runs, putting a big smile on her face, and Jan's Logan tried his best for Tish and Rachel in different classes.
Avril went home with a fistful of rosettes - a 13th, two 18ths and a 24th and Jules and Jette came 3rd despite Jules having a cold and a poorly leg. Mel also needed a van just to carry home the rosettes - a 3rd, a 4th, a 5th and two 17ths! Jo got four (!) 2nd places, including one with Floss, a 10th and a 15th. Tish's TJ took 3rd in agility and 2nd in Jumping. Brenda's Bryn got a 2nd, 4th, 7th and some clears, and together with Wendy's Geordie, won the costume section of the Fancy Dress Pairs - they were 'The Lost Samurai' Canin-ja warriors - lol!
Well done to everybody!

Waldridge Weekend
So, I'm not at a show this weekend, though I would like to be at Waldridge Fell Agility Show by the sea at Redcar celebrating with Wendy and Georgie who came 5th in the Grade 3 Agility today after leading the class for most of the way. Another huge cheer for Rachel and Amos, who not only got his first KC Clear Round today, but came 5th in the class!!
They will be a few sore heads tomorrow I think!
Sunday update: Wendy and Geordie came 4th today in Grade 3 Agility - going steadily upwards.....well done! And at the ABC Show at Winterton, Helen and Lucy got a lovely clear on the 1-3 agility today and Jock finished the weekend off with a super clear in the steeplechase.
Further update - Kirsty and Maisie Mouse have won out of Grade 1 into Grade 2!! Congratulations!

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

What a weekend!!!!
As far as I know, the biggest success this weekend was Wendy and Kyle winning the Graded 4 to 7 Agility (Grade 5 section) at Hare 'n Hounds Show at Redcar and moving up to Grade 6.
He also got a 9th place
But, meanwhile, at Dog Vegas, Sarah and Tilly qualified for the First Contact final by getting a 5th in the agility,
and Kirsty and Maisie got a 3rd in one of their classes.
Brenda and Bryn managed an 8th in Combined 4 to 7 Jumping at Redcar and a 10th in Combined 4 to 7 Agility, plus a couple of other unplaced clears.

Jules' Jette also managed a Clear Round at Vegas.

I'm sure there were other results too, so I'll update when I get them.

Tonight's Training
Sorry everyone, but training is cancelled. So many people are unable to make it, and with snowy roads likely to get icy later on, we felt it was for the best.
Hope to see you all next week!
